What to Expect

A group of healthcare workers standing together.

To book an appointment

Our office is referral based and appointments will only be booked with a referral. If you are looking to schedule an appointment with one of our doctors, please request a referral from your family doctor or optometrist.

What to bring to your appointment

  • Your Care Card / BC Services Card
  • A current list of your medications (including eye drops). Alternatively, you can ask your pharmacist to fax the list to us directly.
  • Your prescription glasses
  • Completed intake form (if possible)
  • Sunglasses as your eyes may be dilated
  • If English is not your first language, please bring a translator

On the day of your appointment

  • The appointment will take 1.5 to 2 hours
  • If not already completed, you will be asked to complete the new patient information form when you arrive
  • You will be greeted by one of our friendly technicians who will review your medical history and perform a variety of diagnostic tests to check your vision and assist the doctor in examining your eyes. The technician will also instill eyedrops and may dilate your eyes if required
  • You will meet with the doctor who will review all of the findings, discuss a treatment plan, and answer any questions that you may have

Wait Times

As we are a specialist office, we sometimes need to accommodate emergency patients which can result in longer wait times. We appreciate your patience.

We also ask patients to be respectful of their appointment time and provide 24 hours notice for cancellations and rescheduling. A $50 fee will be charged for last-minute cancellations and no-shows.
